The Luna Minoris Confederacy has a government structure like no other in the galaxy. The Luna Minoris Confederacy of Non-Aligned Worlds lends its political peculiarity to the fact that its original purpose wasn't to become a government, but rather to serve as a political tool that would balance out the playing fields between the smaller star systems and the interstellar powers that had succeeded in gaining full control of the Organisation for Interstellar Peace. The Luna Minoris Confederacy of Non-Aligned Worlds built upon a long tradition of cooperation that existed in the region of space occupied by the leading star systems of the L.M.C. In 2466, the Luna Minoris Confederacy of Non-Aligned Worlds as it is politically organized today was created under the Second Treaty of Confederacy.
The Second Treaty of Confederacy created a supranational structure that had limited authority over the national legislatures of each of the member states of the Confederacy of Non-Aligned Worlds. This supranational "government" does not have an executive branch, but it does have a legislative branch as well as a judicial branch. The government of the Luna Minoris Confederacy has had good success in furthering its economic goals. Indeed, the Luna Minoris Confederacy economic dossiers are the single policy domain where the LMC has almost achieved all its goals. There exists for the most part a common market, and all Member States have acceded to the single currency project. Despite these accomplishments, however, the economy is still growing accustomed to the vastness of wealth and potential wealth that exists within the borders of the Luna Minoris Confederacy. The Confederacy's success in economics is unparalleled and it stands to become the biggest economy in the whole known universe.
Three Houses, the High House of Laws, the High House of Policy, and the High House of Economy rule the Confederacy of Non-Aligned Worlds. Each member state is allowed to send five elected representatives and five appointed specialists to each of the Houses. The specialists have two votes, and the elected representatives have one vote in the High House. The High House of Laws is tasked with creating new laws at the Luna Minoris Confederacy of Non-Aligned Worlds level as well as work towards making all the laws within the L.M.C. member states more compatible and . The High House of Policy is tasked with the future creation of an interstellar government to represent the L.M.C. states - every member state at one point or another has for the most part stalled its work so its effectiveness has yet to be proven. The High House of Policy has been concentrating on getting the member states to approve an independent military force to fall under the jurisdiction of the High House of Policy - it views this all the more imperative with the recent wave of declarations of war. The High House of Economy is by far the most successful of the three High Houses; it is tasked with the economic welfare of the Confederacy and enjoys great popularity with L.M.C. citizens.
